Honorable Mark Violante
Chief Judge, City Court of Niagara Falls, New York
Judge Violante has been on the bench since 1986 and is currently the Chief City Court Judge in the city of Niagara Falls. He implemented the Niagara Falls Drug Rehabilitation Court and has presided over the Drug Court since 1996. Judge Violante also implemented the Niagara Falls Domestic Violence Court and presided over same for three and one-half years. In February 2003, Judge Violante implemented the Niagara Falls Treatment Access Court (a mental health court) over which he now presides.
Judge Violante formerly served as an Assistant District Attorney, Assistant Public Defender, and Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Niagara Falls. He is a past President of the Niagara Falls Bar Association and also past member of the Board of Directors of the Niagara County Bar Association.
He received his law degree from the South Texas College of Law, and was admitted to the New York State bar in 1977.
