Underage drinking is down, and conversations between parents and kids about alcohol are up. Educational programs like the Smashed Project get kids talking. In partnership with Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD), Responsibility.org is launching this theater education program in the United States for the first time in April 2019.
Smashed
The Smashed Project is a unique theater education program that aims to prevent underage drinking among high school students and equip them with knowledge and skills they need to make smart decisions regarding alcohol in the future.
In addition to a live theater performance, students participate in an interactive workshop, a detailed evaluation measuring the impact of the program and follow up educational activities at their schools.
The Smashed Project, initially developed by Collingwood Learning in partnership with young people and teachers in the United Kingdom, has been delivered in 20 countries across 6 continents over the past decade. To date, the program has reached over 320,000 students in the UK alone.
The first US tour will run from April 22nd through May 17th.
