Each April, Responsibility.org celebrates Alcohol Responsibility Month while embracing our missions of eliminating underage drinking, eliminating drunk and impaired driving, and empowering adults of legal drinking age who choose to drink to do so responsibly. Using the theme “Good Friends, Good Choices, Good Times,” we recognize there are actions to take to celebrate responsibly.
Throughout this month, we encourage you to join us in taking a moment to consider how our choices and behaviors around beverage alcohol can impact both ourselves and those around us. Whether it's choosing a friend—or volunteering yourself—to be a designated driver, making it known that you will never serve alcohol to anyone under 21, or simply enjoying drinks mindfully, every decision counts when it comes to alcohol responsibility.
Good Friends
Gathering with family and friends is one of life’s great joys. Whether it’s a cozy night in with friends and beverages of choice or a lively evening out on the town, let’s remember to reflect on our “why” when choosing to drink—or not drink. Being mindful of our “why” leads to good choices.
Good Choices
Lead by example and model responsible behaviors in the presence of alcohol—especially if kids are present. Drink responsibly. Plan for a safe ride home. Don't push a drink on someone who is taking the night off or who doesn’t drink. By making conscious choices and encouraging others to do the same, we can create a ripple effect of positive impact and good times.
Good Times
When we prioritize and embrace responsibility, good times are had by all. If and when we choose to drink, being mindful of our alcohol consumption not only ensures we're enjoying responsibly, but it also influences others to be responsible, too. Let’s toast to responsibility!
This month, take action by celebrating Good Friends, Good Choices, and Good Times with us by using our social media toolkit below. Thank you for being champions of responsibility during April and throughout the rest of the year.
