Responsibility.org honors Members of Congress for leadership on safety issues
Members of Congress play an important role in our outreach efforts each year, and 2014 was no different. During Alcohol Awareness Month in April, Global Youth Traffic Safety Month and Health and Fitness Month in May, the Girl Talk LeaderU Summit in July, back to school in August, National Teen Driver Safety Week in October and now as the holiday season approaches, Members of Congress reached out to their constituents to encourage conversations about alcohol responsibility and teen driver safety. This year, we are honoring 12 Members of Congress with our Leadership Award for their continued dedication to these important issues. They are:
Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-NH)
Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND)
Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV)
Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler (R-WA)
Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN)
Rep. Cheri Bustos (D-IL)
Rep. Renee Ellmers (R-NC)
Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI)
Rep. Richard Hanna (R-NY)
Rep. Jim Himes (D-CT)
Rep. Martha Roby (R-AL)
Rep. Marc Veasey (D-TX)
We greatly appreciate their efforts and their support as we work to eliminate impaired driving and stop underage drinking. Follow them and Responsibility.org on Twitter to learn more about their involvement in these important initiatives and find out what they’re doing in your state.
