Talking to Kids of All Ages

At, one of our key missions is to eliminate underage drinking, and we think these conversations—a lifetime of conversations—are key. Parents are the number one influence on their kids’ decisions to drink—or not to drink—alcohol, and when conversations about alcohol between children and parents increase, the underage drinking rate decreases.

With information coming at kids from all angles and devices, it’s critical that conversations not only start early and happen often, but that they also continue as kids grow—the topics and complexity of them growing as well. We want families to talk early, talk often, and be healthy.

Since 2014, we have kept our finger on the pulse on life with kids in an effort to meet parents where they are. With that in mind, each year we assemble a team of parenting influencers, and arm them with information about modeling responsible behavior and talking to their kids about alcohol to prevent underage drinking.

The goal of this team is to empower other parents and caregivers to be confident about their own decisions regarding alcohol, model healthy, balanced behaviors, and create a foundation for starting conversations with their kids starting at an early age.
