Student-Led Campaigns
In 2009, Responsibility.org sponsored the American Advertising Federation's National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC). Participating teams were challenged to develop a comprehensive communications campaign, by students for students, to decrease dangerous overconsumption of alcohol by college students, and create effective behavior change. More than 140 teams representing colleges and universities across the nation presented their ideas on how to deal with college binge drinking during this competition.
Several major universities received grants to implement and measure the potential effectiveness of these student-generated campaign elements that their teams presented at NSAC. Responsibility.org supported campaigns include: The University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, University of Alabama-Tuscaloosa, The George Washington University, Ohio University, Syracuse University, University of Oregon, and Texas Christian University.
