Keeping Fit and Staying Responsible on Capitol Hill!
Earlier this month, Congressman Marc Veasey introduced House Resolution 719 designating May as Health and Fitness Month, championing good eating habits and at least 30 minutes of exercise a day to increase longevity. He has been working tirelessly in his District to host free, family events that promote health and fitness.
Today, he hosted the Health and Fitness Expo in the Cannon Caucus room located in the Cannon House Office Building on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., and we participated!
For the third year in a row, Congressman Veasey (D-TX) hosted dozens of companies and groups all promoting healthy and active lifestyles, including Nike, Reebok, Girls on the Run, Dannon Yogurt, National Athletic Trainers Association and many more.
Each year, we are extremely pleased to participate in the event and promote the message of responsibility to Members of Congress, Congressional staffers, visitors and other exhibitors alike. Our booth featured a host of interactive messaging including our new Virtual Bar app, the state map feature, and our End Impaired Driving PSA, all of which were very well received.
Our key message to kids is to say “YES” to a healthy lifestyle and “NO” to underage drinking. For parents and other adults, our materials are intended to promote a lifetime of conversations around alcohol responsibility and to provide proven solutions to stop impaired driving.
We would like to thank Congressman Veasey for making this event possible and taking the time to visit our booth.
